Many will remember award winning vocalist and songwriter Mark Bishop from his days traveling with his father and brother as The Bishops. Since the groups retirement almost 15 years ago, Mark has kept busy writing and as a successful soloist. Now, Mark is back with his daughters Courtney Isaacs and Haley Bishop as well as John Isaacs on percussion, Josh Rison on guitar, Chris Withrow on bass and Russell Funk on keys. The band has a unique sound to them while combining old and new favorites as well as fresh new material.

The project kicks off with “You Love Me Anyway” and is a sweet reminder that no matter what we do or are going thru Christ loves us despite. It’s a great, sweet beginning to this project. “Baptize Me in the Rain” is a fun, fast-paced song with a country flavor that showcases Mark’s signature vocal style.

“I Will Sing” features the family harmony of Mark, Courtney and Haley and is a great, strong trio number. The vocals definitely have that family feel to them. Other highlights include “I Will Sing”, “You Are You Are, ” “Sometimes God Whispers,” and the closing song, “Ordinary Average Autumn”

If you are a fan of country, folk and gospel music, you will love Mark Bishop and Forget the Sea. Their sound is unique yet seasoned, and their songs are fresh but remain true to their roots. Grab a copy of this new group and go catch them in concert! You’ll be glad you did!
