It’s Getting Deep

bryan hutson
I have to admit that I can’t swim. Yes, a grown man and I can’t swim.

When I was a young boy, I was visiting at my cousins house and we were in their pond. I was in the water, but I was close to the shore.

One of the older cousins swam up to me and grabbed my arm. He began to pull me out into the deep part of the pond. I went under. I panicked and it scared me so bad that I never attempted to learn to swim. Never. Ever.

I have been in pools, even the ocean ..but I’ve always been in water where my feet could touch the bottom.

Sometimes in life, we are in the deepest part of the water and our feet can’t touch the bottom.

I’m so thankful for Isaiah 43:2 “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you.”

God created the waters. He allows the storm. He doesn’t always keep us FROM the storm or keep us FROM the deep water, but He promises here in His word to BE WITH US.

He’s never failed us. Oh, His methods we may not always agree with or understand.

Isaiah 55:8 “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.”

He doesn’t ask us to understand His ways, He just asks us to trust Him.

If you are out in life’s deep waters. Rest assured, that He is with you. Hold onto Him. Trust Him.

Prayer starter: “Father, I don’t understand why this is happening to me, but I TRUST you. Give me strength and may YOU be glorified. In this time in my life. In Jesus name. Amen.”
