Nelons Honored By The State of Georgia

nelons01webDallas, GA (May 4, 2016) – The Nelons, set to be inducted into the GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame on May 10, were recently honored by the state of Georgia and their hometown of Dallas, GA. Earlier this week, representatives from the office of Georgia Governor Nathan Deal and Dallas, GA Mayor, Boyd L. Austin Jr., honored the talented family with a commendation and a dedication setting the day of May 10, 2016 as ‘The Nelons Day” in their hometown of Dallas, GA.
The Nelons will be inducted into the GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame on May 10, 2016 in Nashville, TN at Lipscomb University during the GMA Honors celebration. The all-star evening will feature performances by Amy Grant, Jason Crabb, Donald Lawrence, Donnie McClurkin, Hilary Scott & The Scott Family, Jordan Smith, Michael English, Selah, Travis Cottrell, Tye Tribbett and more.

Formed over 25 years ago by Founders Deon & Susan Unthank originally as SoGospelNews.com. SoGospelNews.com became the most viewed Southern Gospel website on the Internet with over 1 million hits per month. The website is based out of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. In April 2010, SoGospelNews changed its name to AbsolutelyGospel.com, allowing the site to cover all genres of gospel music. Before the passing of founder Deon Unthank in December 17, 2022, he arranged the sale of the site to a dear family friend, Bev McCann. The site is now run by Bev McCann and the Nashville 37201 media group.
