Since I was not familiar with Pam Weston, I went to the internet to do some research to find out a little about her. She was born into a musical family in Knoxville, TN. At age 7, she began playing the piano. She wrote her first song at age 14, got a job with The Sound Masters at age 17 and formed her first band at age 21. Music has been in her blood since a young age.
Pam’s latest project, God’s Been Good is her fourth southern gospel project. Her sound is a little country mixed with southern style. Some of these songs are quite familiar while others are not. Starting out the project is a upbeat song that was more of a pop song “Try A Little Kindness” and it has a very good message for all of us. What a better place this world would be if we all had more kindness. The title cut “God’s Been Good” is a song that Legacy Five previously recorded and “Jesus In A Song” is a Crabb Family one. “A Little Good News” is another song that was on the pop charts by Anne Murray, and it is a another good message that the world needs to hear.
“I’ve Got That Old Time Religion” is an instrumental tune that you will be clapping, tapping your toes and singing along as this is an old favorite of many. Slowing back down, “I Can Trust Him,” “Solid Floor of Faith,” and “My Only Love” are good songs that are not as familiar. “Mama Can’t Remember” is a song Pam wrote about her 95 year old mother with Alzheimers. Rounding out this project is another upbeat favorite “Till The Answer Comes.”
