The Victory Trio was not familiar to me so I went to the internet to do some research to find out a little about them. They are a trio from Central Ohio that started in 2009. The trio consists of George McCorkle, his wife, Sharon and Joyce Piatt. Joyce’s husband, Terry is the equipment manager and keeps the bus shining. They have had six recordings and five national radio releases since their start.
Their latest project, So Glad, has some of gospels favorites, many of which you will recognize and find yourself singing along. Starting off is “I’ve Found A Hiding Place,” a great upbeat oldie and easy to sing along with. “Lead Me To The Rock” and “God On The Mountain” both are favorites to many. The background music adds a lot to these selections. Other songs that may not be as familiar are “I’m Glad He’s Mine,” “I Will Trust In You,” and “He Put My Past In The Past.” These three songs have a great message.
Picking the pace back up is “Joshua,” another familiar one that you will be clapping and singing along to. “The Blessed Savior’s Feet” slows the tempo back down with another great message. “What A Time” picks the pace back up and is followed by one of my all time favorites: “We Shall Behold Him.” What a message in that song! Rounding out this project is “I Can Almost See The Lights Of Home,” and it is a great song to end this project. It is an acappella number that is beautifully done.
This is a 3 star recording. The mixture of songs is a great mix and the background music adds lots to the selections. It is an easy listen project and is one for your collection. You will enjoy this recording.
