Bill Hefner Grandfather Of Anchormen Tenor Chris Jenkins Passes Away

57a6a5083537d.imageWilliam “Bill” Hefner, 71, of McLeansville died Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Stevens Memorial Baptist Church with burial to follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Bill was a faithful member of Stevens Memorial Baptist Church, where he served as music director and a deacon. He was also a gifted singer that shared his talent with several quartets including The Beacons and Redeemed Voices. Bill was retired with Duke Energy.”Papa”, as Bill was known to his family, was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a friend to many.

He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas A. Hefner, and a sister, Belinda Hefner.Bill is survived by his wife, Ellen A. Hefner; daughter, Amy Hefner Walton and her husband, Scott; son, Rod Hefner; mother, Julia B. Hefner; grandchildren, Chris Jenkins and his wife, Stephanie and Amber Hefner Wray and her husband, Jason; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Kaleb, and Brooklynn; and brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Anne Hefner.
