Weather Proof – Bryan Hutson

Many years ago while I still lived with my parents, we moved. We bought a home that had a big nice porch built on the front.

Well, the porch looked nice for a while.
My Dad noticed that after a year or so, that one corner of the porch seemed to sink. We soon realized that the porch only LOOKED good. It wasn’t built with good material. Underneath, it wasn’t built on a solid foundation. It was indeed NOT weather proof. We eventually had to remove the porch completely.
Our faith is much the same way. If our belief is not BUILT on the foundation of God and His truth, we will NOT stand.
I’ve never claimed to “know it all”, but there are things I DO know. Rain is going to pour. The wind will not stop blowing. The heat and cold will be relentless.
I also KNOW that is God IS faithful.
If our walk with God is NOT secure, the storms in our life can destroy us.
Matthew 7: 24-27
Build Your House on the Rock

24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

God and His Word are true. We can be assured that His promises are secure. We must build our life on His eternal, unmovable, unshakable foundation!

Does your walk with God just LOOK good?

Prayer starter: “Father, I need You as my ROCK. I need Your strength as face life’s storms! I commit today that I will deepen my walk with You. I pray that someone might see Your son; Jesus in me. I ask this in His name, Amen.”
