Recently, I was scrolling through Facebook and came across a very thought provoking post.A great friend and mentor; Brian Sanders, was posting about Jim Henson. Jim Henson is responsible for “The Muppets.” In Brian’s post, he was telling how one of Henson’s friends said to Henson, “Why are you wasting your time with these silly puppets?!” Brian’s post continues to say that “If Henson would’ve listened to that voice, the works would’ve never known the laughter and joy of the Muppets! You WILL find opposition when you dream big. So, when others are dreaming, encourage them. Don’t be a bucket of water.”
Oh, how I can relate!
My wife; Yvonne and I have been ministering together fulltime since November 2016. I’ve already seen our share of “Buckets of Water.” People who try to discourage us from following what we KNOW God has called us to. Ya know, throwing water on our fire! (passion)
Yes, it’s sad that those whom we are finding opposition from is leaders in the Church. However, for every negative comment, we are still receiving God’s confirmation!
See, when God calls you to something greater, no man, woman or any power in Hell can stop you!
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
God has plans for us?! Yes, indeed!
God wants us to have that godly passion for His work. His kingdom. He wants us to encourage others to have His passion as well!
1 Corinthians 9:24 “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.”
We are all running this race. You might even be tired. Be encouraged today that God wants to strengthen you.
Now, go out today and encourage someone! Even if what they’re called to do, makes no sense to you. If God is in it, He WILL bless it!
Prayer starter: “Father, may I be an encourager today! May I help someone who needs a word from You. May I help “fan the flame” for what they’re passionate about. In Jesus name. Amen.”
