An Encouraging Word: Bev McCann – “Don’t Sleep on Jesus”

July-2023

An Encouraging Word from Absolutely Gospel’s President/CEO, Bev McCann

This is the month that we here in the USA celebrate the Freedom that so many men and women have sacrificed their lives for.  We need to make sure that we let them know that we love and appreciate their service to and for our Country the USA.  A Wonderful place to live and our heritage is nothing to take lightly.  If you look back at our history that some are trying to destroy, our forefathers gave everything so that we could have all that we have today.  Let us not forget where and how America came about.  Don’t let anyone take your heritage; it is a precious gift that you cannot pay back.   Does that remind you of another very precious gift?

I’ve been reading Matthew over the past few weeks and chapter 26; tells about the last days that Jesus was alive leading up to the crucifixion.  When he went to the garden to pray and ask Peter, James, and John. He asked them to stay watch for Him while He prays…. His heart was crushed with grief.  Jesus was headed down a road he did not want to go, but His love for you and me kept Him on course.  Think about it…  When He came back the three were asleep… and Jesus asked …. “Can’t you watch for just 1 hour “?

How many times has the Lord asked us to wait for just a while?  Be patient, wait upon the Lord Isaiah 40 says, “They that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength”

We are so lazy sometimes in our walk; I know I am at times.  We get tired or worn out or just overwhelmed, and we just want to do nothing for a while.  Scripture tells us that Jesus asked more than once “Father if it be possible let this cup pass from me “But not my will yours be done…   I think Jesus was feeling a little overwhelmed; Jesus said to watch and pray so that we will not give into temptation.  When we let our guard down that is when the devil is waiting to hit us with full force.   None of us are perfect; Jesus being perfect, had to pray for strength, if Jesus needed the Father’s strength; who in the world do you think you are that you can make it through this life without God’s help?

Jesus gave to us a gift of Everlasting life, a gift that we cannot repay, a gift that is full of grace and mercy, one that this world is trying to take away.  But just as our heritage of the USA will always stand true for us Americans, Jesus will Never take the back seat to any other god or religion.  At the name of Jesus, we are set free.

The greatest gift of Freedom ever given sets you free from sins that hold on to your life, gives you peace where there was once fear, and gives grace and mercy where there was damnation, the price has been paid in full by Jesus on the Cross of Calvary, all you have to do is accept the gift.  If you have not asked Jesus to come into your life, please do so today, and experience the greatest gift of all….. Jesus the giver of life….

All you have to do is pray,

Jesus, forgive me of all my sins, come into my heart and life, and make me pure through your love and forgiveness.  Fill my life with your Love, create in me a clean heart, and make a right spirit within me.  Thank you Jesus for coming into my life and making me one of your own.

Now call someone and let them know that you asked Jesus to come into your life and find a good church that you can get involved with and grow in Christ.  If you don’t know who to call, call me I’ll rejoice with you and help you find a church near you.  Praise God for his love and mercy.

Be blessed and know that Jesus loves you

Serving on the boards of the USAGEM, as well, as MCCF and ACCMA has been a blessing to my life. I feel that God has used these organizations to help me further his calling in my life. I am a Wife, Mother, and grandmother of a beautiful family. We have 17 grandchildren all together. I am loved by a wonderful husband and my family. I / We are truly blessed. Do we have our issues or problems, we sure do, but through the Grace of God we are overcomers and victorious. I was raised in church my whole life and started working in the church in one way or another at about 17 yrs old. I knew when I was around 13 that I would be working with kids and who knew what else. I always dreamed of singing and traveling but I never thought I would get to do what I do. It is just amazing at times. Over the years God has healed me, helped me forgive, and live a Victorious life through our Lord Jesus Christ. See sometimes you never know what someone has gone through, just because they are happy and seem to be free-spirited, we never know the hurt God has healed and brought them through. I am thankful that God saw fit to help me through the years I struggled, but I am ever so thankful he gave me freedom of the past and a blessed and joyful victorious life through Christ.
