An Encouraging Word: Bev McCann-“Blessings to Ya’ll and a Happy Fall”

October 2023

Blessings to Ya’ll and a Happy Fall Month:

Have you ever felt like Jack in Jack and the Bean Stalk?  Sometimes Life gets a little overwhelming and we want to give up.  Before you do that, let us look at this story.

Beans for a cow, wow!

If you came home and told your spouse that you had just traded your paycheck for some magical beans, what do you think the response would be? Yes, somewhat close to Jack’s mother I’m sure, or worse.  (If you haven’t read the story, you might want to refresh your mind/memory of this little story)

Everyone is looking for those magical beans in their life, and we as Christians forget where and to whom we belong.  There are so many people in this world looking for the answers to their problems and we have the answer to life and that is Jesus! Are we sharing the answer?  Don’t take me wrong, God is not a magic bean, but He is the answer to Life’s questions and problems.

In Matthew 11: 28-30 the Lord tells us “Come unto Him All that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest, take my yolk upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your soul, for yolk is easy and my burden is light”

If we allow Jesus to take our problems and burdens and hold them to his hand, he’ll carry us and lead us in the ways we should go.  I wrote a song a few years ago “He Will Carry You” The group LJT, recorded it last year and it turned out beautiful with their family harmonies. However, the song just talks about how Jesus will carry us through the times of life that we just can’t seem to walk through.  We are never alone when we belong to Jesus.  He is our buffer and safety net and our best friend when we allow him to be.  Serving and being a part of the family of God, just makes life’s burdens and our path much easier to bear.  It is full of Joy and its actually the bible tells us that it is Joy unspeakable joy, and the half has yet to be told.

Sometimes Life gets in our way and we cannot see what is ours to begin with as Christians.  We have to remember that we are the children of the highest King Jesus, just like Jack, those items he took from the giant were his to begin with, and the Giant had taken them from him.  We have to fight the giants in our lives sometimes to take back what God intends for us to have as His children.

God has given us the keys to open the door to all of the blessings that he has in store for us, His Children, we have to use them.

There are times when we have to trust God and walk through the door of the unknown before we see the treasures that lay waiting for us on the other side.  Jack didn’t know who his father was nor did he know that the treasures at the top of the beanstalk were his already, but Jack knew that fear made him weak and he had to be strong.  We have to persevere as Jack did in this little children’s story, we have to be willing to fight for what is ours as Children of the Most High King.

Even when the battle is hard and long, just know that the top cannot be too far off.  As Joshua said in 1:9 “Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid neither be thou dismayed; for the Lord thy God is with you whithersoever thou goest..

Don’t be afraid to walk toward the blessing of God.  Don’t be afraid to claim the Blessing that God has in store for you.  Don’t be afraid to dream and follow the dreams that God has placed in your heart.

Just remember that you are blessed and you need to share the gift of Salvation with those in need.  Don’t be afraid to share Jesus, people need to know that God is still in control of this nation, One nation under God that is who we are and what we stand for in America.

Love you all and I hope that this little note will give you a ray of hope and brighten up your day or month

If you are a Child of God, Blessings are waiting for you.

Serving on the boards of the USAGEM, as well, as MCCF and ACCMA has been a blessing to my life. I feel that God has used these organizations to help me further his calling in my life. I am a Wife, Mother, and grandmother of a beautiful family. We have 17 grandchildren all together. I am loved by a wonderful husband and my family. I / We are truly blessed. Do we have our issues or problems, we sure do, but through the Grace of God we are overcomers and victorious. I was raised in church my whole life and started working in the church in one way or another at about 17 yrs old. I knew when I was around 13 that I would be working with kids and who knew what else. I always dreamed of singing and traveling but I never thought I would get to do what I do. It is just amazing at times. Over the years God has healed me, helped me forgive, and live a Victorious life through our Lord Jesus Christ. See sometimes you never know what someone has gone through, just because they are happy and seem to be free-spirited, we never know the hurt God has healed and brought them through. I am thankful that God saw fit to help me through the years I struggled, but I am ever so thankful he gave me freedom of the past and a blessed and joyful victorious life through Christ.
