Last Words – Bryan Hutson

Recently, I read an article on “Famous and NOT so famous Last Words of Celebrities”.

Here were just a few that intrigued me.
“I’m going to the bathroom and read.”-Elvis Presley
“I’m losing it.” -Frank Sinatra
“It’s very beautiful over there.” -Thomas Edison
“I’ll sleep well tonight.”-Henry Ford
Have you ever wondered what might be YOUR last words?
As I wrestled with how to write this devotion, it made me contemplate my own words. I complain too much and say things that are not SO edifying.
Ephesians 4:29 “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.”
I hope that MY last words are encouraging and spoken in love. Maybe I should concern myself with “What Will Be NEXT Words.”
Matthew 12:36 “I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak.”
I don’t know about you, but I sadly speak a lot of careless words. Lord help me to speak words that glorify you!
This article even included the “last words” of Jesus.
“It IS Finished.”-Jesus Christ
Friend, THESE were NOT His last words, because He rose from the dead.. And He’s STILL speaking!
He speaks through His word and through our connection with Him in prayer.
May our last words be glorifying and uplifting God.
Prayer starter: “Father, may my words be seasoned with love and pointing others to YOU. Forgive me for those times when I have let careless words flow from my lips. Help me to guard my tongue. I pray this in Jesus name. Amen.”
