REVIEW: Michael Wayne Smith – More of You

mwsmith-moreofyou
Producer: Shane Roark
Record Label: Chapel Valley
Michael Wayne Smith is a singer/songwriter from Oak Ridge, Tennessee whose been writing and singing gospel music for many years. His voice is powerful yet smooth, rich and full of conviction! This project, More of You is his first worship project and has many familiar worship songs as well as some new ones.
The opening song, “Great King of Glory” is a great kick-off to this worship experience and is followed by the popular “Above All.” Both are excellent and done very well.
The popular “Your Grace is Enough” takes on an acoustic feel and is done in a simpler fashion musically but again, another popular song very well done. One of the best stand out moments on the project is “Carried to the Table.” This, is perhaps Michael’s best vocal delivery to date. This is a great song paired with a great singer and is a match made in heaven!
“Oh Our Lord” is a great song of praise and will make you want to put it on repeat. It is another great song choice! The closing song, “Magnificent Grace” is beautiful and such a sweet, tender way to close out this project. Michael’s vocals really shine here.
Michael Wayne Smith is a great singer. This project is one of the best worship projects to come along in a while and you need to give it a listen!
