Ball Brothers – Dynamic as Always!

ballbrothers-feature2016

The Ball Brothers are a family quartet, who have made a big impression on Southern Gospel music in the past few years. The group started out as four brothers, singing in church. They then went into full time ministry in 2006. The Ball Brothers currently consist of 37-year-old Andrew Ball, 35-year-old Daniel Ball, 26-year-old Chad McCloskey, and 21-year-old, Matt Davis. I have had the privilege to see these guys live and to frequently hear them on the radio. They are wonderful! I love their style. It’s got a vintage feel to it.

To help you get to know the guys a little better, I asked them about their families and where they are from. Andrew is married to Moriah, and they have three children. Andrew is from Lincoln, IL. Daniel is married to Tasha, and they have four children. Daniel is also from Lincoln, IL. Chad is married to Sarah, and they have two children. Chad is from Gaylord, MI. Last but not least, Matt is currently single, and he is from Fairfield, ME.

The Ball Brothers are traveling about 150 dates per year, and have a Christmas Tour coming up in November and December. They also have a new project coming out in September entitled Dynamic. Along with the new project, the guys will be releasing a LIVE DVD in September as well. When asked what their favorite place to perform was, Daniel replied, “We love traveling all over the U.S.A., but one of our favorite places has been Northern Ireland. We have done three tours over there and always enjoy the fellowship and the beautiful country.”

One of the original Ball Brothers, Joshua Ball, who traveled full time with the group for five years before coming off the road in 2012, was diagnosed with pancreatitis last September. Some of you may have seen this in various Southern Gospel magazines and social media posts. He was in ICU for over 60 days. He was able to go home from the hospital, but still has ongoing health issues related to his pancreas. As of currently, the boys said that he is doing much better overall, but still needs our prayers.

Two questions that I like to ask groups when interviewing them are, Why do you do what you do? and Has God been teaching you anything lately? The response to the first was, “We have a passion to reach the lost and encourage believers through Gospel music. Our slogan is ‘Music that Spans the Generations’. We believe that the message of the gospel through music is for people of all ages, and we love being able to sing for young people and people who used to be young.” The response to the latter was, “Patience! Sometime we setup a timeline on how we think things should move. This past year, God has used our song “It’s About the Cross” to go viral on Facebook and gain over 8 million views. The song also went to #5 on the iTunes best-selling Christian chart. This all happened 7 years after we originally released the project.” That’s amazing!

If you’ve never seen the Ball Brothers LIVE, I highly recommend it! They do a great job, and I believe that you would thoroughly enjoy them.
