Nashville, Tennessee (September 22, 2016) Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter Jerry Salley has announced his upcoming Australian tour. Jerry will be joined by Golden Guitar winner Kristy Cox who is currently on the US record label Pisgah Ridge. Salley produces several Australian artists, including Cox, and this will be his 5th trip to the land down under.
“I can’t wait to share my songs with the people of Australia and join Kristy in her home country”, stated Jerry.
Jerry Salley has had over 450 different songs recorded and his songs have sold in excess of 15 million records worldwide. From Sir Elton John’s only chart single to appear on the Billboard Country Chart (“Where We Both Say Goodbye” – duet with Australian artist Catherine Britt) to a Gospel song so popular it has been included in Church Hymnals (“His Strength Is Perfect”). From songs recorded by country music legends Loretta Lynn and The Oak Ridge Boys to some of today’s biggest country stars like Chris Stapleton, Reba McEntire, Toby Keith and Brad Paisley, Jerry’s long list of accomplishments speaks for itself.
”We will be traveling all over the country and I will be making my first trip to the outback!”, Jerry said, “Those seeing me perform for the first time will get a glimpse of who I am both personally and musically.”
Jerry and Kristy will be joined by special guests at various dates along the tour, including Billy Bridge, Rebecca Lee Nye, and Allan Caswell.
Formed over 19 years ago by Deon & Susan Unthank originally as SoGospelNews.com, the site was birthed from an email discussion group by the same name. The SoGospelNews email discussion list was created by the Unthanks after the Singing News shut down its extremely popular discussion list. SoGospelNews started as a simple webpage listing artists, fans, individuals, etc. that were avid supporters of the newly formed SoGospelNews talk list. The site eventually took on printing news for Southern Gospel artists, and eventually took on reviewing the latest recordings from both signed and independent artists within the small genre. SoGospelNews became the most viewed Southern Gospel website on the Internet with over 4,000,000 hits per month.
The Unthank family are now involved in the site, as well as the addition of over two dozen staff writers. The website is based out of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. In April 2010, SoGospelNews changed its name to AbsolutelyGospel.com. The name change allows them to cover news items of not only Southern Gospel, but also Country Gospel, Inspirational, and Black Gospel.
On January 5, 2011, Susan Unthank passed away, leaving the website in control of Deon, their son, Chris, and their daughter Amy.
