The Williamsons and The Gospel Station Endorse Viral Video

WELEETKA, Okla.August 25, 2017 – The award-winning Oklahoma-based group the Williamsons have been affiliated with The Gospel Station radio network based in Ada, Oklahoma for many years. Recently, the network took up a cause when the Americans For the Separation of Church and State took issue with the cross on the roof of a chapel located on the grounds of East Central University in Ada. They demanded that the university remove the cross and remove all religious books as well as the altar from the chapel. The chapel was built in 1957 using private funds and has been open to people of all faiths to use for prayer and reflection.

Randall Christy, president of the network, produced a brief video at the University about the group’s demands. It has been viewed over 6 million times!

The University had already began removing items from the chapel and had planned for a crane to remove the cross. However, because of the great public outcry, due in part to the success of the video, Oklahoma State legislators contacted East Central and asked them to cease with the removal of items at the chapel. The altar and the books have been returned it to the chapel! Oklahoma State Attorney General Michael Hunter has stated that if this misguided organization should proceed with the lawsuit the state of Oklahoma would take the case and defend the right of the cross to remain on the chapel which could very well end at our nation’s Supreme Court.

Donnie of the Williamsons stated, “We are so glad to be a part of The Gospel Station and it’s related ministries such as the World Mission Team with whom we have literally been around the world. This cause is just one of the many reasons why we are honored to help promote this video and stand for the cross!”
