Dean is a family trio comprised of Tony and Tina Dean and their son Jeremy Allen. The family hails from Kentucky and have a fresh mixed trio sound all their own. “When God Speaks” is their latest release and the project has a definite country progressive edge to it.

Some highlights include “I Can’t Explain It” which is the opening song off the project, Dean has the lead on this powerful anthem, and the family has great harmony on the choruses. Great way to open a project! “When God Speaks,” the title track, also features Dean and is probably the most powerful song on the project. It’s sure to be a hit in concert with listeners as a song of hope and encouragement.

“I’m A Winner Today” features Tina’s country alto on this middle of the road song about relying on the Lord that no matter our circumstances. We can cast our cares on Him, and we are a winner! Son Jeremy is up for “My Life in A Song,” and he has a great clear, baritone voice and does a great job on this song. It’s another crowd pleaser and radio friendly tune!

“Talk the Talk Walk the Walk” is a fast paced, fun song featuring Dean’s big voice and is one of the strongest songs on the project! The project closes with “You Can’t Tell Me I’m Dying” which is a great song with a unique perspective but talks about the hope of heaven and what awaits us: “You can’t tell me I’m dying when I’ve made it to the Promised Land.” It’s a great song and a great way to close a project.

If you’re a fan of country music and like family harmony, you want to check this bunch out!
