REVIEW: Lynda Randle – Homecoming Favorites and Songs of Inspiration

Producer: Lynda Randle & the Band
Record Label: Gaither Music Group

Lynda Randle has just released a CD/DVD project entitled Homecoming Favorites and Songs of Inspiration. This new project features some of her most requested songs such as “God On The Mountain,” “One Day At A Time,” “The Kings Highway,” and more.
The project kicks off with the hit “God On The Mountain.” This particular version steers clear of any swing and has a more traditional country sound, compared to what you’re used to hearing.
“Sheltered In The Arms Of God” is another mention-worthy feature. Most artists would take the light approach when recording a cover of this classic. However, Lynda took the country approach once again with this song.
“The Kings Highway” is another feature that will require you to hit “replay”. This is the kind of musical and vocal ability you would expect from Lynda and is quite possibly the best cut on the entire project.
Although way overdue for a new mainline project, fresh tracks and arrangements of these classics deliver a modern sound without straying from the traditional feel that fans gravitate towards. Also noteworthy are the vocal performances by Lynda on this project. It’s hard to find somebody with anointing and talent to deliver the message of a song the way Lynda does.
