Brad Smith Departs Blackwood Gospel Quartet

Brad Smith, known as "6" for his six octave range, has recently departed the Blackwood Gospel Quartet where he has been singing the Bass part for the last few years. Smith has sang the Baritone and Lead parts with other groups in the past. Smith gave no reason for his departure other than, "Because I wanted to."

Sounds like Brad is ready to sing with a group like Mark Trammel Quartet or another great FT ministry. Not only can the boy sing, he knows what it takes to be in a quartet -- hard work. Praying for the right opportunity for Brad.

Best explanation I've heard in years.

Brad is a great bass singer. One thing about Brad, he is honest. He also is a great friend. Brad will land on his feet.

I have had the opportunity to share the stage with Brad many times, their is no finer talent in gospel music than Brad Smith. I wish him the best.

This just says it all. Sometimes - maybe more often than we'd think - this is just the best explanation for leaving. And, to be honest, his one line is all the explanation he really needs to give.

I have known Brad personally for many years, and he knows what he's doing. Sometimes people who do not do this for a living do not understand how a working relationship functions. Sometimes there are more underlying reasons for departures, sometimes its done just because they wanted to. I'm sure, knowing Brad, he has a great reason and has put a lot of thought and prayer into it. Love you man, and praying for you!!
