Crimson River is a Southern Gospel Trio based out of Davenport, IA. Their purpose for the past 18 years is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through song. We send our congratulations to Brittaney, who is engaged to be married in March. Andy Grizzle, who sings baritone for Crimson River, also holds a position as the current director for the Midwest Quartet Convention. Our thoughts and prayers are with Andy Grizzle after the loss of his wife, Regina, in December from cystic fibrosis.
Their latest project, New Desire was released in October of 2009. They utilized some great writers on this project including Joel Lindsey, Twila Labar, Annie McRae, Amy Marie Unthank & Rebecca Peck.. Also making his debut as a writer is SoGospelNews.com’s own Chris Unthank. It opens up with the uptempo title cut, New Desire featuring the newest singer, Brittaney Harksen. It’s All Good highlights long time member Andy Grizzle the best. Purpose in the Pain is a beautiful ballad written by Annie McRae. Child of the King written by Diane Needham Mummert is a standout on this project for Dee Ann Douthart. It closes out with a good rendition of When the Lord Says Go.
While this project could have used a bit more refining technically, the heart of this group is still evident.
