Daniel Childs Announces Solo Ministry Launch

Daniel Childs, one of Gospel music's most fresh young vocalists, has officially announced as of June 23rd that he is launching, for the first time, a solo Gospel singing ministry.

Being the great-grandson of Gospel music legend Mr. Roy Blackwood, Childs is a fourth-generation singing member of the famous Blackwood family. Daniel began his career in 2008 as baritone for the Blackwood Gospel Quartet, and since that time has also sung full-time with the Toney Brothers Quartet and has filled in for many other groups, such as the Skyline Boys Quartet.

Daniel has spent the first half of 2010 taking a break from travel to re-assess his approach to music, and is now coming back strong, fully ready to hit the road and take the Gospel before audiences across the nation.

"After taking some time off to work things out," Daniel says, "I ultimately cannot deny the fact that what I always come back to is that I need to be back out there singing in those churches, in front of those wonderful people. I believe this to be my calling. I'm constantly reminded of it. And now, I am completely ready to work for the Lord."

In this new ministry, Daniel will be performing many of the old Gospel classics that his family introduced to the world, as well as a few Gaither favorites and some original songs as well. He also feels it necessary to have a time of invitation at every concert possible.

"The confirmation that our efforts as Gospel singers are not in vain is when we see someone accept Christ in a service, or when we see people moved to tears by the songs we sing," Childs goes on to say. "And that is exactly what this new ministry is about. Yes, singing is great fun. Yes, traveling is fun. The business aspect is even fun. However, the sole reason for this ministry is to see lives touched for Christ, and THAT is why I travel... to be a blessing to people, and to present a concert that reflects the glory of Christ above all else."

Daniel is calling his first 2010 dates his "Ministry Launch Tour", and is booking concerts at churches all over the nation.
