Evansville, IN (August 31, 2010) – Gospel Sounds Ministries, Inc today announced plans to produce a new, hour-long radio program entitled, “The Sounds of Southern Gospel” to air from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM each Saturday on WVHI in Evansville, Indiana. In addition, the program will stream live from the WVHI Website, http://www.wvhi.com. David East of the Gospel Sounds and the Southern Gospel Times will host the program, which will feature Southern Gospel and Country Gospel artists’ music, showcasing a different artist or group each week. The first broadcast will air on September 4, 2010.
Paul Jacobs of the Gospel Sounds said, “It’s been a while since Southern and Country Gospel music has been played in our area, and we are looking forward to hearing it on the air again. We are so happy to be a part of it.”
Stan Hoffman of WVHI states, “We are excited about this opportunity to partner with the Gospel Sounds and the Southern Gospel Times to once again promote Southern and Country Gospel music to the Tri-State area. The program has already generated a great deal of excitement and we will continue to build on that as the program moves forward.”
According to Mr. East, “We’ll be playing lots of music from both well-known artists as well as introducing new artists each week. We want to highlight the music as much as possible. The intent is to prove that a program of this type can be successful in our area, and that there is an audience in our market that has been continually ignored. With a broadcast area containing over 600,000 potential listeners, not to mention the streaming on the website, I believe this program will be very successful.”
