Hey I don’t know you admin people or Ben Harris, but I do like Ben’s Tribute to the Statesmen better than anything else out there right now.

Ok, sorry I spelled your name wrong but at least please set the right spirit here. LOL!!!!!

The give and take on this thread some how reminds me of words to a song I used to sing as a soloist many years ago. No comparisons intended!

“They Could Not”

They looked at Him and saw a simple man. A carpenter with healing in His hands. They wondered what He meant, about the Fathers plan. They heard, but could they really understand? They could not, they could not, though they tried, they could not. But when at last they took from Him what willingly He gave. Could they really understand, could they really understand, could they really understand ....THEY COULD NOT!!

Wow,
I have not been on this site in years and my girlfriend and myself wanted to go and see a southern gospel concert which neither of us have attended in quite a while so I typed in this website and low and behold come across this thread with people blasting one of the best people and true SGM fans in the country. Ben Harris
And then I realize why I left Gospel and went into country music…
Sad part about it is I grew up listening to this music which is the best music in the world but despise the attitude SGM fans and a lot of artist put off.

Ben Harris is a true friend of mine and without him I would be totally out of SGM. He has been a inspiration to me and he and his wife have treated me like family.
To say some of the things you people are saying is totally ridiculous.
Ben could be working for the biggest names in the country music field but he chooses to serve Jesus and take a major cut in pay to do so….
Let me ask you this? How many of you would do that?
If the truth be told probably not many.

No need to reply to my message because I will not be back.
Sad thing I learned is Christians are the first to pass judgment on people who don’t live the lifestyle they believe someone should live…And I might ad are very cruel to the people they are trying to lead to Jesus Christ..Maybe Some of you people should sit back and take it from someone who knows…Ben Harris has been on both sides of the track. He has been with the best and the worst the music business has to offer…

And I can’t think of a better man to stand up for what is right no matter how many toes it steps on…Because every day he’s out of country music and traveling down the road singing SGM is living proof he’s living what he’s singing…

Judgemental?  Won’t be back?  I think that is called a “harsh” judgment.  Defend your friend all you want but it looks like nearly everybody has the same high opinion of Ben Harris.  That wasn’t the issue but maybe you didn’t have time to read through 9 pages of this thread.  Anyway, since you won’t be back, I guess we can just pray for you, and maybe the Holy Spirit will erase the memory of your drive-by attack.  God bless us all and you.

Leon, it is obvious you don’t get out much. 1 in a 1000? You qualify as blind.  So, now go ahead and slam me too, And OH Yeah, I was in the industry in the ‘60, so I do know from 1st hand observation.

Wow, can’t we all just get along here? To me it is entertainment and some great words to some great songs. I say don’t get to wraped up in the people, they will let you down.

Come Leon let it all out. Tell us how you really feel.  LOL!!!

At least get his name, right it’s DEON not Leon.  LOL

You mean like Deon Russell? wink
