Mike and Kelly Bowling have been singing and making music for a long time. Most fans remember Mike from his days with The Hinsons and then The Perrys where he met Kelly who was singing with her family, The Crabb Family. Now with a family of their own Mike, Kelly and their oldest daughter Hope are back with a new project that has some powerful songs and great family harmony.
The 10 song project kicks off with “Praise God He is Alive” and features Mike. You’ll be clappin’ and singing along to this sure to be concert favorite number! Hope’s first single, “One Glorious Moment of Faith,” written by Kyla Rowland is definitely a stand out song and performance from the young singer. Hope has a rich alto sound much like that of her aunt, Terah Crabb Penhollow. Hope delivers this song with definite conviction and does it well. The future is bright for Hope.
Mike has a new song on the project that is one of his best vocal deliveries ever. “I Was There” is a country-flavored tender song filled with hope that He (Jesus) is always with us! Great song and great delivery from Mike. Kelly shines best on the final song off the project, “Our First Hallelujah There.” Her voice is so clear, and her soprano range is showed off in a nice, pleasing to the ear tone as she delivers this beautiful ballad! Kelly is, perhaps, one of the most underrated vocalists. She has a sincerity and passion about her many lack.
The group brings back the old song “I’ve Got my Foot on the Rock” and makes it all their own. It’s another favorite on the project for sure. Hope is also featured on the ballad “God is Always Good,” and this is another great song of encouragement and hope. She does a wonderful job on the song!
The Bowling Family are some of the sweetest, most genuine people in gospel music. They make good music, love their fans and know how to minister. This project is one of if not their best to date. Pick up a copy today!
