A couple of years ago, My wife; Yvonne and I signed up through one of the local news outlets to receive “Severe Weather Alerts” to our email account.

These alerts will inform us when severe weather is forecasted for our area.

Wouldn’t it be nice to receive “Alerts” from God, when a STORM (situation) was headed our way?

I think sometimes He does.

There are times, especially when we actually create the STORM that God will attempt to “Alert” us prior to the “Eye of the Storm” reaching us.

Yes, sometimes LIFE just happens, but sin can create Storms in our lives and God wants us to correct our behavior before the destructing forces moves into our area.

The first “Alert” might be a sermon speaking of sin that we’re engaged in. Second it might be a friend coming and confronting us with our pattern of behavior. Third it might be God allowing us to be caught or exposed, to get our attention.

Yes, God DOES send “Severe Weather Alerts”. We just have to watch for them. He sends them to us because He loves us. He wants us to be more like Jesus.

We can almost say that the majority of the book of Proverbs is a “Severe Weather Alert!” It warns us of getting involved with flirtatious women, hot tempered people, dishonest associates, lust, lying, judging.. The list goes on and on.

Are you WATCHING and LISTENING for God’s Alerts?

Proverbs 16:20 “Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers,
and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord.”

Psalm 116: 1-2 “I love the Lord, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.
Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live.”

Seek after the Lord and be willing to watch and listen to His voice. Hear and heed His warnings.

Prayer starter: “Father, I ask that YOU speak to me concerning my daily walk. Thank you for loving me enough to give me those alerts. May I be more like your Son; Jesus. In His name I pray. Amen.”
