Look Out – Bryan Hutson
Our granddaughter; Charlotte turned a year old back on May 2nd.
It seems she went from learning to simply to turn over to walking in a week! They grow up too fast!
She began walking about a month ago and now she’s walking all over the house.
She’s doing great, however she’s easily distracted. If she’s walking across the living room and if a commercial comes on TV, her eyes will be on the TV, however her feet will keep moving! A couple times, she has almost walked into the coffee table or the door! “Lookout!”
We all can become distracted.
Proverbs 4:25 “Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.”
Our walk here on earth, can bring so many distractions that can cause us to take our focus off of the Lord.
Worry, doubt, guilt and fear are all tools the enemy uses to take our eyes off of God and His promises.
Colossians 3:2 “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.”
Romans 8:5 “or those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.”
If we aren’t living and walking according to God’s word and His Spirit, we can walk right off the path and “LOOKOUT”, we’re headed straight into trouble!
However, by following after Jesus, He promises to lead and guide us. He’ll never forsake us and His path will lead us to eternity with Him.
Prayer starter: “Father forgive me when I’ve allowed distractions to take my eyes off of You. I trust and believe that Your plan and path for me are perfect. Help me to walk and live according to Your word and Spirit. In Jesus name, Amen.”
