Joy O’Neal, wife of Dixie Melody Boys Bass Singer Ed O’Neal passed away early this morning after a long illness. She was affectionately called “Momma Joy” by those on the bus.
A spokesman for the Dixie Melody boys stated, “We are heartbroken to report that Mama Joy has gone on to her heavenly reward. Please pray for Ed, Allen, Dara, Randy and the entire family at this difficult time. She will be missed.”
Ed O’Neal was Joy’s care giver for several years. That fact says much about Ed’s character. Ed and Joy just celebrated their 60th on July 4th. Theirs was a true live story.
