Well, have I got something for you to read!

Yep, are you ready? Here goes..

I’m a sinner.

That’s right. You read that correctly.

A few days ago, a couple friends and I were talking about “honesty in the church” or might I rightly say, “The LACK of honesty in the church.”

See, no one seems to want to admit that they are flawed. No one wants to speak the REAL truth; that we are ALL sinners and we desperately DAILY need a Savior.

Too many of us want to sit in the pew, stand in front of the class, sing behind the mic or read from the pulpit, wearing a mask so that no one can see our imperfections.

However, the Church needs transparency.

We are bombarded daily by the world calling us judgmental, close minded- hypocrites. We are perceived as people who hate and live secluded lives.

My biggest pet peeve with others believes is that, we stand and attack certain sins while “secretly hiding” sins that we struggle with.

I believe that if we would show transparency and honesty in our own struggles, unbelievers might see their own need for help. And THAT help is a Savior; named Jesus.

When the woman (who was caught in the act of adultery) was brought before Jesus, those who were gathered around was waiting to see how Jesus would react.

John 8:7 “When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”

We are ALL sinners. Our churches are full of them.

The Apostle Paul said this:
1 Timothy 1:15 “Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners–of whom I am the worst.”

Church: let’s get REAL and show a REAL forgiving Savior who can completely transform lives!

I’m thankful that Jesus came to die for ALL sinners, even me.

Prayer starter: “Father, I admit that I’m a sinner. Without your Son; Jesus Christ, I would be lost for eternity. May my life be transparent and authentic and display God’s grace. In Christ’s name; Amen.”
