The Wait – Bryan Hutson
I don’t like anyone having to wait on me. I do my best to value other people’s time, so I always want to be on time.
We live in a “fast food” type world where we want our food faster, faster Internet speed, quicker prescriptions filled. We can buy everything online with no wait! And of course, we want God to move faster to meet our needs.
We want God to move RIGHT NOW. When He doesn’t move during OUR time frame, we get angry or think He doesn’t care.
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” (Psalm 27:14 NIV)
Has God ever broken a promise? No. Has He ever let me down? No. Has He ever disappointed me? No. Has He ever been late in meeting my need? No, NEVER.
Why do I still struggle with “The Wait?”
He has proven to me that His plans are much better than mine.
Isaiah 55:8
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.
I struggle because I’m not viewing God for who He is. He is faithful. It’s just not a word that DESCRIBES Him, it’s WHO HE IS. I have to stop viewing Him like I view my own humanness. He is God Almighty and He is in control.
Lord, forgive me for ever doubting your goodness.
Friend, Are you struggling today? Pray this with me..
“Father, Your word says in Mark 9:24… “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” Forgive me for doubting you. I know you ARE faithful and every promise you’ve made, you have kept and WILL keep. Give me strength with “The Wait.” Thank you for loving me and thank you for Jesus. In His name I come, Amen.”
