HIGHROAD’s Highly Anticipated Somewhere I’m Going Set To Release September 30
Pre-Releases Now Available Online
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (September 16, 2016) Country/bluegrass fusion group HIGHROAD is set to release their much-anticipated new recording later this month. The new recording, entitled Somewhere I’m Going, releases September 30 to coincide with an exciting week of events during the National Quartet Convention in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
Somewhere I’m Going, the follow-up to their multiple award-nominated project Angel At the Crossroads, sees the return of GRAMMY-nominated producer Ben Isaacs (Oak Ridge Boys, Gaither Vocal Band, The Isaacs) to the producer’s chair and the pristine vocal and instrumental performances fans have come to expect from the group. Featuring 12 tracks, Somewhere I’m Going builds on the musical complexity of Angel at the Crossroads that endeared them so much to the music industry.
“Working on this project with Ben really was more than just working on some songs,” remarked Sarah Davison, founding member of HIGHROAD, “This whole recording is almost entirely original music, so it’s like we are putting more of our hearts out there for the world to see. Ben knows what that feels like, and he really understood the purpose of the songs we chose to put on there.”
Four of the 12 songs on Somewhere I’m Going were co-written by Davison. Davison paired herself with some of the industry’s biggest and most notable writers, including Kenna Turner West, Jerry Salley, and fellow HIGHROAD members Kristen Bearfield and Kinsey Kapfhammer. Other contributing songwriters included Lee Black, Sonya Isaacs Yeary, Sue C. Smith, and more.
Sarah Davison said, “Writing most of these songs was a really special part of making this album. I loved writing with Jerry Salley and Kenna West; both of them have become so dear to me as friends, and I look up to them so much. Co-writing within our group was incredibly powerful, and we really poured out our personal stories and testimonies of what God has done in our lives.”
One such personal story comes in the form of “Christ, My Hope, My Glory” which also features a show-stopping performance from Jason Crabb in a stunning duet with Davison. Sarah mentioned, “Working with Jason was a blast. We had so much fun! He brings this element of just utter surrender to Christ when he sings, and you can tell his faith is as real as it gets. He is only there to glorify God, and it is evident in everything he does and sings about. It was an honor to have him on this project.”
Somewhere I’m Going also features a Gospel choir on “Christ, My Hope, My Glory” and special guest vocals from Ben Isaacs, Becky Isaacs Bowman, Sonya Isaacs Yeary, Anna Thompson Mercer, and Seth Sneed. Group member Lauren Conklin also contributed all of the string arrangements for the recording.
Somewhere I’m Going will be available nationwide on Friday, September 30, 2016. However, fans can pick up a pre-release of the recording plus an autographed photo today by visiting the group’s website at www.highroadmusic.com. The group was also recently featured in prominent industry media outlets such as CCM Magazine, AbsolutelyGospel.com, and SGN Scoops Magazine.
HIGHROAD will be performing a jam session at their NQC Booth #117 on Friday, September 30th from 4:30 to 5:00PM, and also have the new CD available at that time.
