A couple of weeks ago, some extended members of the family were visiting our house. As they were preparing to leave, a request for prayer was made.
I responded that “Yes, we would be honored to pray”, but we took it a step further; I spoke up and said, “There’s no better time, than the present, let’s pray NOW.” We joined hands and prayed for this specific need.
Why don’t I do this more often?
Sadly, for me, it’s the idea that someone is watching. Silly? Yes, and I am working on getting past that. I should’ve let anything from keeping me from approaching the Throne of God.
Once a few years ago, I was walking through Walmart and saw 2 people standing in the aisle; praying. It touched my heart, so I stopped a few feet away and just began to pray with them.
James 5:16 “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”
There IS POWER in prayer! Prayer can change circumstances, situations and US.
We shouldn’t let ANYTHING keep us from STOPPING and praying with someone. No matter the circumstances or our surroundings, PRAY. When someone asks you to pray for them, don’t wait, take the initiative and PRAY RIGHT THERE.
I’m thankful that God hears our prayers.
1 John 5:14 “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to His will He hears us.”
Prayer starter: “Father, I ask for boldness to pray when You direct me to. Give me an opportunity to pray with and for someone today. Thank you for hearing our prayers. In Jesus name, Amen.”
