A while back, I heard a quote that pierced my heart. It reached me because I have been guilty of the TRUTH in this quote.
“God’s message of love has been conveniently left out by many who would rather make a point than make a difference.”
How many times have I not used LOVE as a way of reaching someone, while I was trying to convince them of their need for God?
Sadly, many times.
Do I want to be known for being dogmatic, judgmental and what I’m against, or that I love Jesus?
Lord, forgive me.
Yes, I know that we are to stand against evil and wrongs. Yes, We are to proclaim the TRUTH of the gospel with boldness. Yes, We are to be steadfast and reject the world’s ideas of what is right and wrong, but IF I omit God’s love, then I’m missing the mark!
I want to be known as “one who strived daily to share God’s love and lived out that love with others.”
See, love is not what God does, it is who He is. God IS love.
1 John 4:16 “So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”
The world needs to hear about God’s love. They need to see that love LIVING in us.
Share your faith. Share your faith with love.
Jesus loved us before we could love Him.
Romans 5:8 “But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Let’s purpose in our heart that we will speak of God’s love first and foremost.. and that He may draw men unto Himself.
Prayer starter: “Father, thank You for Your love toward me. Thank you for loving me when I’m so unloveable. Allow me to share Your love as I represent Jesus today. In His name, Amen.”
