Since 2002, Three Bridges has delighted Southern Gospel listeners with their own variety of progressive and souful sounds. Group founder, Elliott McCoy, remains in the baritone position, but the 2018 version of Three Bridges also includes Jeremie Hudson and Shannon Smith. When Three Bridges started traveling, they signed with Sonlite Records. However, for the past several years, Three Bridges has recorded with Mansion Entertainment. In 2017, Elliott McCoy and Chris White announced a reunion of sorts as Three Bridges rejoined the Sonlite Records label. Their newest release, Our Story, marks the return to the label. Today, we take a look at Three Bridges’ latest release and see what they’re offering listeners in 2018.

As I mentioned earlier, Three Bridges is well-known for their blues and grooves infused music. Plenty of soul mixed with progressive arrangements define the concept of Our Story. Tunes like “God Did It” and “Live like Jesus” show their driving harmonies with Shannon Smith’s soulful tones at the center of Three Bridges’ style. In addition to these, other progressive-style tunes include “Count It All Victory” and the first single, “Good News Never Gets Old.” The latter tune offers a refreshing take on how the Good News affects everyone and never ages with time.

In addition to offering the fans a variety of high energy, up-tempo selections, Three Bridges offers listeners well-written ballads for reflection. Ballads like “Live the Gospel” and “My Story” show the center of Three Bridges – to share the Gospel message and how it applies to everyone. Three Bridges also revisit an old hymn, “The King of Love My Shepherd Is.” This beautiful tune is performed with effective tenderness, yet heartfelt passion.

When I saw that Three Bridges rejoined the Sonlite Records label, I was quite thrilled. I’ve followed their music since they started in 2002, and their music has always been exciting, energetic, and engaging. While I admit I have not been as familiar with their music over the past 6-7 years, I am pleased to see that not much as changed since their original days with Sonlite Records in the 2000s. If you are a fan of soul-filled music, mixed with excitement and energy, please give Three Bridges and their new release, Our Story, a listen.
