An Encouraging Word: Bev McCann – “Thank You, Father”

An Encouraging Word from Absolutely Gospel’s President/CEO, Bev McCann

While I was getting dressed this morning and listening to one of my radio stations,  I was overcome with the thought of how busy I am at times. At that moment, a familiar song “Amazing Love” by Chris Tomlin came on,  flooding my heart with the Joy of the Lord. I cried out “ Lord, I love you with all my heart”!   It is amazing what Christ did for us.  I was reading a devotional before rolling out of bed this morning which talked about how Christ called God “Abba”, showing endearment to his Father.  Then, as He was dying on the cross, He called out, “My God, My God; why hast thou forsaken me”?  Why? Because He took my sin and your sin upon Himself, so we could have a choice to serve Him.  It’s impossible to fathom how much love that must’ve taken, you see, God gave us His only Son. All the other gods of this world ask you to give yours…Who do you choose today?  I have written many songs about heaven and the love of God.  I wish I could make people choose the right way to live, or make them live their lives pleasing to God Almighty, however, God gave us the choice of free will. What are you going to do with that opportunity?  Your eternity depends on your choice. God is loving, forgiving, and longsuffering, but He is also a God of judgment. Heaven is real and Hell is just as real. God is real and the devil is too… You can only serve one master.

I serve a God who is a healer, provider, a protector, and my best friend. The spirit of my God is so real in my life, I desire that everyone I sing or minister to, will see Christ in me. It’s my prayer that my family and children will all come to know the joy of God’s Salvation, just as their grandparents knew and are now experiencing with our loving Savior face to face.

One day I know I will see our little grandson, Brixton, as well as my parents and grandparents again. When I step through those gates into Heaven’s bliss…. What a Day that will be, when we see our blessed Savior face to face. He is the one who died on a cruel cross, just so you and I could have the option to accept or deny Him.  Wow! I’m so glad it wasn’t me who had to make that choice. I’m not sure if I would have gone through with it, knowing that so many would reject and deny me.  God the Father, Jesus, His Son, and the Holy Spirit… I can’t and won’t live a day without them.  Thank you, Jesus, for making the ultimate sacrifice for me,

I hope you will take a moment to say “Thank You”,  to the One who gave you life and makes every breath that you breathe possible.

Isaiah 53:5  ” But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

John 15:13 “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends..”

Much Love to you….

Serving on the boards of the USAGEM, as well, as MCCF and ACCMA has been a blessing to my life. I feel that God has used these organizations to help me further his calling in my life. I am a Wife, Mother, and grandmother of a beautiful family. We have 17 grandchildren all together. I am loved by a wonderful husband and my family. I / We are truly blessed. Do we have our issues or problems, we sure do, but through the Grace of God we are overcomers and victorious. I was raised in church my whole life and started working in the church in one way or another at about 17 yrs old. I knew when I was around 13 that I would be working with kids and who knew what else. I always dreamed of singing and traveling but I never thought I would get to do what I do. It is just amazing at times. Over the years God has healed me, helped me forgive, and live a Victorious life through our Lord Jesus Christ. See sometimes you never know what someone has gone through, just because they are happy and seem to be free-spirited, we never know the hurt God has healed and brought them through. I am thankful that God saw fit to help me through the years I struggled, but I am ever so thankful he gave me freedom of the past and a blessed and joyful victorious life through Christ.
