Danny Riley made the announcement that Josh Feemster is Gold City’s new lead vocalist. Josh, who has been on a fill-in assignment with the group for the past few weeks, has quickly become a favorite with audiences everywhere, prompting many to hope he would be the permanent lead.
Danny Riley of Gold City says, “We could not be happier to welcome Josh to the Gold City family. I knew he was a great singer, but after his first night filling in with us a few weeks ago, I immediately realized just how outstanding his talent is. Without any practice, he walked out, commanded the stage, and blew everyone away, myself included. He is one of the best lead voices I’ve ever sang with, and he is an even finer person. He loves the Lord, is an extremely talented vocalist and we are excited to have him on the Gold City bus.”
“Many will remember Josh for his work with Legacy Five and Mercy’s Mark. His most recent position has been singing alongside his brother, Tim Feemster, with the group Quartet Classic. He hopes to share the stage with Quartet Classic on occasion when the Gold City schedule allows. Josh lives in Sardis City, AL with his wife, Brandy, and their young son, Jack. The Feemsters also have an older son, Joshua, who is married to Sammy, and they are the parents of John Avery.
Josh says, “Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I would consider singing on a professional level again. When Danny asked me to help him out for a month or so, it was just that—helping out until the right man was found for the job. During this past month, the Lord made it very evident to Brandy and myself that His plans are higher than ours, and the time is right for me to do this. I’ve never been more excited about a singing opportunity. The team that is now assembled with Gold City is special and so reminiscent of the Gold City I grew up listening to. Standing on stage with these guys takes me back to what I grew up loving. I can hardly wait to see what all He has in store.”
Danny adds, “I think I can speak for the other men in Gold City in saying we continue to be laser-focused on our mission of sharing Jesus through our music, encouraging the saints, and reaching the lost. Josh shares our passion and vision, and that is the most important reason we extended this opportunity to him. We are glad he accepted!”
