Ernie Haase Announces Change to Ernie Haase & Signature Sound “SOMETHING SAD, SOMETHING GLAD”

Christopher Taylor

Paul Harkey and I have been talking for some time now. And Paul has felt for a long time, the leading of the Lord to come off the road. He and I chatted and agreed that there is never a good time to do this since we are always working on new music and events. So, after 12 years of service to EHSS, Paul is coming off the road to pursue his personal interest at the end of May 2024. His last date will be our Signature Sound Fan Retreat in Sugarcreek, OH at the end of this month.

Paul and I also decided to treat this transition as a classy not sappy experience. We have nothing but love and HIGH RESPECT for Paul and his decision. HE IS OUR BROTHER, and we are #SigSoundFamForever!

So, come out to our remaining shows and celebrate this servant of God and show your love and appreciation to Paul Harkey!

Welcome Christopher Taylor To The Signature Sound Family I have been asked many times how we find new talent. I have always responded with, “they find me”. That is the case with our new bass vocalist, Christopher Taylor. The week before Paul and I finalized this decision, Christopher came to one of our live shows and struck up an instant friendship with all of us, especially Paul. They chatted that night and stayed in touch.

I asked Paul if he had anyone in mind that he would want us to consider and he said, “What about that kid in Miami, Florida?”

So, I called Christopher, and he joined us on tour for a couple of weekends and we all fell in love with him! His voice, spirit, energy, humbleness and most of all, love for the Lord and His people. We will have much more to say about Christopher later. However, you can meet him and welcome Christopher to the family on all the May tour stops. He is traveling with us now and Paul is mentoring him. What a class act that Paul is! Christopher’s first full show with EHSS will be at the live taping of our June 15th Memphis Quartet Show. You will not want to miss this “Live” taping!  This will be a special night. Our guest that night will be Duane Allen of the Oak Ridge Boys, the legendary Blackwood Brothers, and now, Christopher Taylor…our new and exciting bass vocalist! It’s going to be AMAZING!

I know many of you will read this and want to make plans to visit us this month and at the June 15th taping in Memphis. We hope you can join us. If not, we will do our best to post video clips on our social media platforms. However, nothing beats a live show. We would love to see you!

Thank you for the love, support, and prayers. We feel them. Change is never easy. The older I get the less I like it but I always feel a new energy from the Lord when it happens. It’s like He replaces the human will and understanding to His strength and guidance. We never know exactly where we are headed. We trust God’s plan and know He would never ask us to change for change’s sake. “He Made A Change” is not just a song I wrote, it is a lived experience. He is making and remaking us into His image. He is more concerned about our Christ-likeness than our being comfortable with human means and methods.

Whatever you are going through today, I am here to tell you…

If all you have left
Is just one more breath
Rise up in faith
And take one more step
We’re here to tell you
Keep on keeping on!

And that is EXACTLY what we are doing… by His grace!

Oh, What A Savior He Is,
Ernie Haase
