An Encouraging Word With: Bev McCann!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from Bev.

As we are coming into the new year, a year of anticipation and excitement for many, and a little worry regarding the unknown of what’s to come.

We all have high hopes that the new changes will in fact help our country get back on track. By this I mean get our focus back on God and our godly values, family, and biblical truths. We the church need to return to our first love which is Jesus! The savior of the world. We just all celebrated the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, (christmas).

But, within two weeks we forget that we need to celebrate and share God’s love with the world all year long.
We get back into our busy lives, and I know busy. I am guilty of this myself.
We start to worry how are we going to pay for this or that. Where and how am I going to accomplish the things on my todo list In 2025 ? And the stress starts to build. Then this is where we need to remind ourselves what the word of God tells us to do.

Matthew 6:34

I was reminded how we don’t have to live with worry and or anxiety. God is more powerful and his grace is bigger than anything we are facing today or things on our list for 2025. Begin to form habits that will help you break the power of worry in your life. Start by thanking God each day for some small signs like, “his goodness, a loving friend, a beautiful garden, a child’s smile”.

Gratitude will increase your sense of God‘s presence in your life. Then, set aside some time to think about ways God has taken care of you in the past.

Write them down and make them part of your faith arsenal pack. So that when you are tempted by an anxious and overwhelming thoughts, you can remind yourselves with concrete examples of how God has already provided for you, and will continue, as long as you trust and follow the leading of the word of God.

Mat 6:25  “So my counsel is: Don’t worry about things—food, drink, and clothes. For you already have life and a body—and they are far more important than what to eat and wear.

Mat 6:26  Look at the birds! They don’t worry about what to eat—they don’t need to sow or reap or store up food—for your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are.

Mat 6:27  Will all your worries add a single moment to your life?

Mat 6:28  “And why worry about your clothes? Look at the field lilies! They don’t worry about theirs.

Mat 6:29  Yet King Solomon in all his glory was not clothed as beautifully as they.

Mat 6:30  And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won’t he more surely care for you, O men of little faith?

Mat 6:31  (31-32) “So don’t worry at all about having enough food and clothing. Why be like the heathen? For they take pride in all these things and are deeply concerned about them. But your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them,

Mat 6:33  and he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life and live as he wants you to.

Mat 6:34  “So don’t be anxious about tomorrow. God will take care of your tomorrow too. Live one day at a time.

Be blessed and trust the giver of peace. Jesus.
Love ya, Bev
