The Power of Music: A Journey of Grace By Dusty Wells
I love writing and sharing my heart and story with you. I was journaling this morning and had my large…well actually x-large mug of get up and go-coffee and felt such an urgency to share this with you. Whatever you are dealing with, struggling with, going thru or wherever you are on your journey, hopefully these words and the music will help take you to a new place in Him. I know true HEART MUSIC does for me, over and over again…and I am fairly certain the music helps you as well. Let’s keep listening and sharing it.
My friends, If you know me, you know this—music has been the soundtrack of my life. Not just any music, but the kind that reaches deep into the soul, whispers to the broken places, and reminds us we are not alone. Music has always had a way of bringing me home, even when I felt lost, unworthy, or too far gone.
I wasn’t supposed to be here. My story didn’t start with church pews or worship songs. It started with pain, rejection, abuse and questions too big for a young heart to carry. But God—oh, how I love those two words! But God had a plan. And part of that plan included music.
The first time I heard a song that spoke to me—really spoke to me—it was more than lyrics and melody. It was an invitation. A reminder that even in my wandering, even in my wondering, there was hope. Over the years, music became a lifeline. The artists, the songs, the moments in a concert or a quiet time in my car—God used all of it to soften my heart, to heal, to restore.
That’s why I love the music. That’s why I love the artists. That’s why I love and adore the fans and friends of the music. Because I’ve seen firsthand how a song can be more than just a song. It can be a prayer when you have no words. It can be a promise when life feels uncertain. It can be a friend when you feel alone.
I’ve spent years pouring into this industry—not because I wanted a career, but because I believed in the mission. I believed in the voices God called to sing these songs of hope and redemption. I still believe. And as long as there’s breath in my lungs, I’ll keep championing the artists, the writers, the musicians and those others who are obedient to the call and helping get the music out there. That includes you and me!
Music changes lives. It changed mine. And if you’ll let it, if you’ll open your heart, it just might change yours too.
Keep listening. Keep believing. You are loved. You are seen. You are never alone. Let’s keep HEART music playing for all of us.
Dusty
