A Note from Bev: How Much More Does He Love You?
Today I stood by the window, soaking in the beauty around me. The trees are a vibrant green, flowers are blooming everywhere, and birds are chirping and fluttering from branch to branch. It truly is a gorgeous day.
As I watched a little sparrow perched in the tree, I couldn’t help but think: If God shows such tender care for even the smallest bird, how much more does He love you and me?
That thought comes straight from a beautiful song called “How Much More,” written by Rusty Goodman. I was honored to record it on my latest album, Fall in Your Arms.
The Bible puts it so powerfully in 1 John 3:1:
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!”
To truly grasp this verse, we first have to understand who we are — we are children of God. He is our Creator, our Heavenly Father.
Just recently, I was praying with a young mother. As we prayed together, I could feel her little one moving around in her womb. What an incredible miracle! That precious baby already knows God’s touch, hears our voices, and can sense the presence of the Holy Spirit. God is truly amazing!
So here’s the question that stirs my heart: If God loves us that deeply — enough to call us His own children — why do we ever doubt His love? Why do we sometimes struggle to live fully for Him and give Him our everything?
We tend to make it harder than it needs to be. God’s ways are not burdensome. They are filled with love, hope, life, and freedom.
We’re so careful these days about what we put into our bodies — watching sugar, carbs, and everything else. We exercise and try to stay healthy. Yet how often do we allow the “junk” of this world — things that are not pleasing to God — to fill our hearts and minds, even when we know what His Word says is true?
Let’s make a fresh commitment today: Stay close to the Father. Remain obedient to His Word. And love Him with the same love He has so generously poured out on us.
With a grateful heart,
Bev
