If you have read any of my reviews or followed me on social media, then you know I absolutely love love love HEART music…music that speaks to the heart of the listener. So many times, for me some of the best HEART music comes from the genre of praise and worship. Well, there is a church located in Hyderabad, India that is making a difference in all they are doing. The church is called Pearl City Church, and it sits in the midst of the city’s population of over 7 million people.
This city has over 2 million living in the slums and dumps of the city. It is a city that is devoted to Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism. It is rare in the city that one would hear about Jesus Christ and the hope He affords. Well Pearl City Worship has been striving to make music that is relevant to them and not just a “copycat” of songs from other top praise and worship artists, churches and writers. These songs are born there in their city, their church and their lives. With the help of producer extraordinaire Ian Eskelin (Francesca Battistelli, Sidewalk Prophets, Chris August and numerous other artists), this project, We Won’t Be Silent, showcases an incredible new sound in modern praise and worship with a definite call to God and praise for what He is doing and has done for these “seekers of worship”. This project has moved me and I cannot wait to find out more about the church, the band, the praise and worship team. I want to hear their stories and what drives them to write these songs that challenge, convict and move me.
A few of my favorites that grabbed my attention and made me want more, are THE ONE WHO SAVES US, HOLD MY FOREVER (powerful truth), MY STRONG HOPE, WHERE YOU ARE (one of the most prolific songs I have ever heard about prayer), and the list goes on.
I encourage those of you who love to listen and worship along with great music. This is a must have. Get ready to be moved. You will be hearing more from this team of fellow worshippers.
