This is the latest work of Joey and Rory. It is a collection of some of Joey’s favorite hymns that she used to sing when she was growing up. They have always held a special place in Joey’s heart and for years she has been looking forward to completing this album. Together, Joey and Rory completed this album with all their heartfelt emotion and Joey’s beautiful vocals that you have come to love over the years.
Joey has captured that rare quality of a true country sound with a voice that cries out with sincerity. You can hear in her voice that she believes every word she is singing. Add to that the fact that she is singing age old hymns with a definite Gospel message and you have a certain hit CD. Knowing that she was going through cancer again and that the prognosis was not good she put every ounce of her being into.
While all the songs are very good, the ones that struck me are Take My Hand, Precious Lord, I Need Thee Every Hour, and Suppertime. Of course, her song to her husband about her future passing makes a lump swell up in my throat every time I listen to it.
If you like good ole Country Music, you are sure to love this new CD by Joey and Rory.
