Years ago, there was a movie starring Rick Moranis called “Honey, I Shrunk The Kids.” Rick’s character was a scientist and during an experiment, he accidentally SHRUNK his children. They were the size of ants. The remainder of the movie was their adventure in maneuvering their way through their back yard to the house. Finally, the Dad/scientist “Unshrunk” the kids back to normal size.

While I think that would kinda cool to be able to shrink certain things (and people) unfortunately there have been times that I have “shrunk” the Lord. Let me explain.

When I don’t trust Him.
When I doubt His Word.
When I question His love for me.
When I don’t honor Him.
When I place things ahead of Him.

In those moments, I shrink Him.

James Robison says “People place God in a box and take Him out when they need Him. Then when they are finished, they put Him back in the box.”

Are we shrinking God to meet our needs and then discarding Him?

Isaiah 55 8-9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

God is not a genie in a bottle whom will grant all our wishes, but we treat Him that way. Then we get angry when He doesn’t answer in our time frame or give us the answer we want. His ways ARE HIGHER than our ways. His methods are beyond our comprehension.

“God didn’t ask us to understand, He simply asks us to TRUST Him.”

God has never disappointed me. Ever.

He formed the Universe and yet loves us as individuals.

1 Chronicles 29:11 “Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.”

Allow Him to be God.
Surrender that pain to Him.
Let Him mend your broken heart.
Let Him speak peace to your life.
Let Him save your soul.

Let God be God.

Prayer starter: “Father, if I have ever disrespected You, I am sorry. Lord, during those times that I have doubted You, I am sorry. Please forgive me. I need You to be God and I want to serve You. In Jesus name. Amen”
