Getting to Know the Ferguson Family

Victoria Bowlin: Tell us about the group. Who is the Ferguson Family?

Brenda Ferguson: The Ferguson Family is made up of Mom and Dad, Brenda and Bill. Daughter, Lisa Ann is 24, and has been our lead singer since age 15.  Lisa Ann started singing on the platform at age 5 and loves all kinds of music, but chooses to use her talent to serve the Lord.  Our son, Steven, is now 15 and has been traveling with the family since age 6.  He is a sophomore at a local Christian school.  Lisa Ann and Steven both love musical theater, when the ministry schedule allows.  Bill and Brenda also have two other daughters, Breanna, who is a physician in their hometown; and Sara, who is a preschool teacher.

VB: Where are you from?

BF: Mount Dora, Florida

We are from a small town in Central Florida, just northwest of Orlando.

VB: How long have you been singing Southern Gospel music?

BF: Bill grew up watching “The Gospel Singing Jubilee” as a young boy and has loved Southern Gospel music his whole life.  We raised our children listening to Southern Gospel quartets, including the Kingdom Heirs, Gold City and The Cathedrals to name just a few.  Bill’s dream was to have a quartet, four men and a piano, but that changed after having three girls.  So in 2005, Great Day was formed as a Southern Gospel mixed trio.  In 2009, Lisa Ann joined us as our lead singer, and we have travelled as a family ever since.  We officially changed our name to The Ferguson Family in 2017.

VB: What are some of your favorite places to sing?

BF: We enjoy singing at venues like NQC and Dollywood, but we feel blessed by every opportunity we get to share the Gospel.

VB: What is your ministry mission?

BF: We pray that souls will be saved and people come to Christ.  We also want to be an encouragement to folks, especially those struggling in this world.  Even the saints are hurting and need to be reminded that Jesus will never forsake them.

VB: Has God been teaching you anything lately?

BF: While we were preparing for our last project, Living For The Call, we asked God to show us and confirm for us that we were personally and in the ministry, following the plans he had for us. It wasn’t long before new music came pouring in that spoke directly to living for the call God has placed on our life, being obedient to that call and be willing to go where He would send us.  We feel that this message isn’t just for us, but for everyone.  We feel God wants us to remind the church that no matter where they are in this life, He is ready to call, equip and empower them. All He asks is that we be a willing participant in His plan for our life.

VB: How do you guys travel?

BF: We love our Silver Eagle bus. Her name, which was taken from a hit song by her previous owner,  is Lucille.  She has never left us! LOL

VB: What are some of your favorite restaurants to eat at while out on the road?

BF: Waffle House, Cheddars and anywhere else they serve breakfast all day.

VB: How can people find out more about you and where they can come hear you LIVE?

BF: Online at:
