Joseph Habedank has quickly become one of Southern Gospel’s most recognizable voices and fan favorite artists. Along with Daywind Records, his wife Lindsey and Wayne Haun, he has just released his fourth studio album, Change Is Coming. Let’s dive right in..,

“Thief In The Night” introduces Joseph’s latest effort. This  “Broadway-esque” anthem about the return of Christ is the perfect way to kick off Change Is Coming. Following is the title track. This catchy “word-play” lyric address currents events going on in the world and ties them directly to the soon return of Christ. This song screams radio.

“Religion Isn’t Working”, the current radio single, is possibly the most important lyric I’ve heard in quite some time. This song break open the boxes we’ve placed God in and emphasizes the need of a genuine relationship with the Lord. “Jericho” is an upbeat song that tears down the walls of insecurity in one of the most brilliant and eat-wormy ways. Undoubtedly, this will be a favorite among teenagers and young adults.

“24 Hours” tells the testimony of Joseph Habedank in deep detail taking the listener from the darkest time of His life, to His current live of victory over addiction. I believe people are going to get free because of this song. This is an important “Child Of The King” tackles the burden of shake and the beauty of redemption/grace in a very upbeat, pop manner, reminding the believer that no matter how dirty your past, Jesus only sees you “a child of the King”.

“Judas” is a humbling song and incredible lyric, married to a luscious melody that reminds us that we are just like Judas – broken, prone to betray and in desperate need of grace and forgiveness. “Rebel With A Cause” is another pop themed song with a creative “plot-twist”, sharing the pharisee’s perspective of Jesus Christ. I don’t think I’ve heard another song like this, ever. Very creative and fresh!

“Not Far From Home” is a comforting song that sweetly  reminds us of the hope we have in Heaven, knowing it’s just a breath away. “Rise Above Eden” closes out the new project, and leaves the listener with a grateful heart for the beautiful plan of salvation, despite the wickedness of man that began with Adam’s fall.

Change Is Coming just might be the most important SG album of 2021. It’s nearly impossible to even live the same life after hearing the convicting messages of these songs. Life’s are going to be changed because of these songs. Musically? It’s fresh. Lyrically? It’s solid. Well done, Joseph.
